Rover Car of Wellington Inc

The purpose of the Club is to provide a means for members to help each other in the maintenance, restoration and enjoyment of Rover vehicles.

The Rover Car Club of Wellington was founded was founded in 1973, currently we have 80 members. An Annual General Meeting is held, usually in June of each year, when members elect a Committee. Anyone may be elected onto the Committee, provided that he or she has no personal commercial involvement in the stocking or supply of parts for Rover motor vehicles.

The Club offers the following facilities:

*  Club ‘Model Representatives’, listed in the Newsletter, are able to provide technical and spare parts advice, based on their own practical experience.

*  Other members, listed in the Membership Register with their car details, can always be contacted and are usually happy to share their experiences. Telephone calls no later than 8:30 p.m. please.

*  Technical evenings, social events and rallies are held throughout the year, often in association with other car clubs. A national Rover Rally is held annually at Easter.

*  The Club Newsletter, approximately every two months, lists forthcoming events and contains technical articles and general-interest ‘Rover’ material.

*  Limited stocks of second-hand and new consumable spare parts are available for sale to members. Contact your Model Representative to enquire or to arrange a convenient time to collect (bring cash or cheque book!). Should you hear of any useful parts for sale, please advise a committee member promptly.

*  The Club has a comprehensive Library of Workshop Manuals, Parts Lists and general Rover literature.

*  The Club has a number of specialist tools available for loan to members, for example Ridge Reamer, Ball Joint Separator, Rocker Shaft Extractor, Chain Hoist, large Trolley Jack.

*  Some businesses will give discounts on presentation of the Membership Card.

*  Enamelled grille badges, club ties, T-shirts and other items with the Rover emblem or our special Club Motif are frequently available.

*  Through the Secretary and Model Reps we maintain regular and friendly contact with 8 N.Z. 3 Australian and 3 U.K. Rover clubs, as well as being in contact with various other local car clubs. All of these clubs have spare parts activities, and advise us about suppliers known to them. Through this extensive network, most items can be obtained- given time.

We look forward to seeing you and your Rover. The Committee will welcome your advice and your active participation.

P.S. Subscription renewals are always due in August, at a rate set at the Annual General Meeting.
